Partnership Working With CCG Pharmacists
Walsall CCG Medicines Management team, Practice Based Pharmacists and other NHS pharmacy teams will be supporting GP practices to conduct medication reviews, clinical audits, medicine safety and medicines optimisation initiatives for patient care. Should you not wish your medical records to be used in this way please contact a member of staff at any time.
Named Registered GP
As of April 2014, GP surgeries were informed that all of their patients, over 75, were to have a registered GP.
The NHS has now extended this to all patients. This means that all patients at the practice have been allocated a Partner as their named registered GP. This has no bearing on the care you will receive and you are free to see which ever doctor you wish, regardless of who your named GP is.
Due to the above reason, we will be unable to accept requests for changes to patients named GPs. As stated above you will not necessarily have to see your allocated GP, if you wish, and you can see the doctor you currently see even if they are not your named GP.
General Data Protection Regulation
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new regulation on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the EU. It is effective from the 25th May 2018 and there will be changes on how you can access you health records. We respect your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential and secure.
It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give you the best possible advice and care.
The access to Health Records Act 1990 and the Access to Medical Reports Act 1988 gives individuals the right of access, subject to certain exceptions to health information recorded about themselves. If you wish to access your health records you will need to complete an application form, please speak to reception staff who will be happy to help in this request
This information is only available to those involved in your care and you should never be asked for medical information by anyone who is not involved in your care. You have a right to know what information we hold about you. If you would like to see your records, please call our reception team to discuss further.
We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similarly respectful way. We take seriously any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients. If patients are violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. We operate a zero tolerance policy and will exercise our right to take action to have them removed, immediately if necessary, from our list of patients.
